Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Petz

After listening to Miley Cyrus’ performance on SNL, I took a deeper dive into the “Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz” album, available for free listening on SoundCloud. Miley is morphing into something else, something new, something scary, and I love it! The songs are outlandishly refreshing, and Miley’s voice bulldozes them home, pushing boundaries and offering no apologies. If you were to put Led Zeppelin, Lana Del Ray, Radiohead, early David Bowie, the Tibetan Book of the Dead, and David Lynch into a blender, and then drink it up while drifting in space, you’d be feeling the new Miley vibe. If “Dead Petz” were a movie, it would be Eraserhead. Sometimes I don’t know if Miley wants to become the poster child for sex, drugs and bringing back the sixties, or if she’s prepping to do a porn movie, but she definitely isn’t Hanna Montana. In fact, many people will not be able to get past Miley’s love-affair with pot, sex and profanity, and thus they will throw the baby out with the bath water and miss out on a unique musical experience. I for one will continue to follow and listen. Keep pushing the edge Miley, but always keep one foot on earth. It would be sad if you got lost out there. Peace, love, dove homies.  By the way, the link is
